Possibly the black sheep of the Cartoon Cartoons, Mike Lou and Og, was the seventh Cartoon Cartoon based on a short for the 'What A Cartoon!" show. Created by Chuck Swenson, the series follows the adventures of a city girl, Mike, and her quest for adventure on the high seas. She discovers an island inhabited by some of the most unusual natives she's ever seen. She befriends two of the other children, Lu, the egotistical "princess" of the island, the inventive-minded little boy, Og, and Lu's pet turtle, Lancealot.

     Throughout the series, Mike attempts to teach and replicate American culture to the people of the island. Be it comic books, television, or toys, she attempts to bring a little piece of home to the island every episode, with intentions to share its joy with her friends. Og creates many inventions that replicate the "stuff" Mike left behind in New York through more primitive building materials. The result creates one of the most comedic displays of culture shock seen in animation.

    Mike, Lu, and Og premiered on Cartoon Network in 1999 and produced by Kinofilm Studios. The show only lasted two seasons and ended in 2000.
